Back in the day when I used to head up the LIVESTRONG Grassroots Events program, I often referred to it as “Everything from bike rides to bake sales.” And it’s good to see that attitude has continued to excel as people take things they know they can be successful at, and in turn make them significant.
Case in point: A week from now three of our great friends in Iowa will host Tour de Brew QC, a combination bicycle ride, poker run and all around good time as they work to support their Team LIVESTRONG fundraising for RAGBRAI 2014.
“We will kick off the inaugural ride for Tour de Brew QC in Davenport, Iowa, on Saturday, April 12th with registration starting at 12 p.m. Entry is by donation to the LIVESTRONG Foundation, and all proceeds from the raffles go to LIVESTRONG as well. The ride includes six stops and will be in a poker run format; the best poker hand will win a nice gift basket.”
*** If you’re in the Quad City area, the ride will start at the Front Street Tap Room at the Freight House at noon, and go on from place to place till about 5:30 p.m. for the closing festivities!
The Tour de Brew is just one great example of taking something you’re either passionate about, or maybe even something you’ve always wanted to try, and taking it to the next level by giving back as well.
What can you do to make a difference and have a lot of fun in the process? The possibilities are literally endless! Get more information HERE… and thanks, for all you do! (and especially you, Deren, Shelli, and Tina!)
