Bring the Family to Philly

The Philly Challenge is just a week away and all of us at the Foundation are getting excited for what is going to be an inspiring and FUN weekend for everyone, and I mean everyone! If you are participating, make sure you invite your friends and family along to not only cheer you on, but to enjoy everything that the Philly Challenge Village has to offer! We invite everyone in the Philly area to join us as we celebrate life and encourage each other on in the fight.

We are going to have some great food at the Challenge, with a breakfast taco bar on Saturday and Sunday morning and a delicious summer barbeque picnic on Sunday afternoon with food brought to you by local favorite, Winnie’s LeBus! For those of you who are 21 and older, you can sit back and relax in our Michelob Ultra beer tent!

While you eat and drink your foot is going to be tapping along to our live music brought to you by the Diablo Sandwich Band. This local cover band is going to rock the house, so don’t be shy- make sure you get up and dance too.

Bringing your little ones with you? They are going to have a great time as well jumping in the bouncy house and getting their faces painted in our Kids Zone, open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Be sure to stop by the vendor booths in the Village as well. We will have businesses and nonprofits set up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday giving samples, sharing information, selling great products, and offering wonderful opportunities to give back! There will also be plenty of teams set up in the village, so stop by their tents as well to say hello and hear some amazing stories of teamwork, dedication, and strength.

Don’t forget the best part of the Village: seeing people cross that finish line! Grab your family, friends, and some cowbells and join us along the finish line to cheer them on! For so many people, crossing that finish line means so much more than the end of a ride or run. You will see survivors hoisting up their yellow rose in victory because they won against cancer. You will see a person with “in honor of” bibs who pushed themselves to participate in the Challenge to support a friend who is in the middle of their fight. And you will see people finishing the Challenge for a loved one that they lost, taking every step of the run or every mile of the ride and dedicating it to their memory. Everyone deserves some love when they come down that final stretch, so join us as we cheer loud to share hope, strength, and encouragement.

Come LIVESTRONG and party on with us in Philly! We can’t wait to see you in just a few days!
