On Thursday, March 28th, Dallas’ most charitable gathered at the historic Adolphus Hotel for Dress 4 Yellow, a high-profile fashion show, auction and luncheon featuring designs by more than 20 of the world’s top designers. The event, presented by Park Place Motorcars Dallas, raised $100,000 for the LIVESTRONG Foundation and Cook Children’s Cancer Center.
The festivities kicked off with a VIP reception in The French Room, followed by the “Yellow Brick Road” silent auction where guests were able to bid on fashionable items donated by Cole Haan, TOMS, Marc Jacobs, Deborah Gaspar, Kendra Scott, Bobbi Brown, David Aubrey, Vera Bradley, Mizzen + Main, Abi Ferrin, Isola, Shona Gilbert and more.
The runway show, produced by Bret McKinney, began with a presentation by event co-chair Lee Nagel. Themed “INVintage – Yellow Through the Years,” the event showcased vintage looks from Commonwealth Couture by Lanvin, Oscar de la Renta, and Whiting and Davis, as well as modern looks from a variety of designers including Ruffian, KaufmanFranco, and Naeem Khan and featured designer Escada (Highland Park Village).
Dress 4 Yellow Advisory Committee members in attendance included BowTie Cause founder and keynote speaker Dhani Jones, Chef Tiffany Derry and Steve Kemble. Other notable guests included LIVESTRONG CEO Doug Ulman and Dr. Jeff Murray of Cook Children’s Cancer Center, Gene Jones, NBC DFW anchor Meredith Land, Lynae Fearing, WFAA anchors Ron Corning and Amy Vanderoef, Dawn Mellon, Dee Simmons and D’Andra Simmons. Local designers Isabel Varela (Izavel) and Ashley Burghardt (Ashard Richley) also came out to support the cause.
