On Sunday May 19th join hundreds of riders for the first ever Tour de Pier! The Inaugural Manhattan Beach Tour de Pier is a unique fundraising event that brings one of the hottest indoor fitness activities – stationary cycling – to the gorgeous outdoors of Manhattan Beach.
Hundreds of bikes will be placed on The Strand, overlooking the Manhattan Beach Pier. A single rider or a team of up to 4 riders, ranging from beginner to expert, will cycle for a 4 hour session, with each bike raising a minimum of $500 to support 4 charities: the Hirshberg Foundation, the Friendship Circle, Cancer Support Community and the LIVESTRONG Foundaion. Some of the South Bay’s best instructors and several celebrity guests including Olympic cyclist Tony Cruz will ride through each session with energizing music and lots of excitement.
In addition to the cycling portion of the Tour de Pier, the event will include a Health Expo with a number of fitness and health related sponsors; a Fun Zone with games, moon bounces and more. There is also an opportunity to stretch on the beach before or after your ride! Join certified Lululemon instructors as they guide you through a relaxing and invigorating stretch session down on the sand. Bring a towel and come on down any time during the hours of 9:30 – 12:30. Stretch for a few minutes or a few hours!
Act fast! Registration of $125 per person, $500 per bike, ends May 1, 2013 or as space permits. Registration includes a bike, event shirt and participant gift bag. Hope to see you there!
