Discover Iowa with Team LIVESTRONG

It’s the end January, most of the country has been seeing sub freezing temperatures and the snow has been falling from the Rockies to the Appalachians. Most have put the bikes away for the winter and have been on the trainer and hitting the gym. So why can’t I stop thinking about thinking about eating a pork chop in the middle of a corn field somewhere in Iowa after riding my bike 80 miles?
It’s because it’s that time of the year again! Time to get signed up for RAGBRAI with Team LIVESTRONG and join us for another week long adventure riding across Iowa and fighting for those affected by cancer. RAGBRAI, or the Registers Annual Great Bike Ride across Iowa will celebrate its 41st year, and is one of the longest and largest standing bike tours in the country. Simply put, there is nothing else like it. The route was announced this past weekend in Des Moines, it will be the second shortest at 408.6 miles and will have 17,410 feet of climbing over the week.
Along the route you will spend your days with 20,000+ cyclists from all over the world riding from town to town. You will experience hospitality from the local communities that you didn’t know existed, and each day you will get to know your LIVESTRONG teammates. We all are on the bike for someone and you will get to hear and share these stories, you will meet people like Laurey Masterton and feel inspired to take on the next day with a new attitude.
