We are setting up for the largest ride in Austin’s history – The LIVESTRONG Challenge Austin. We are expecting close to 4,000 riders and thousands of family and friends at the event. Please check out the info below for more information about this weekend’s ride.
Event Schedule and Packet Pick-Up Info
An updated event schedule is available online that outlines everything that will be going on at the LIVESTRONG Village this weekend. The Village will be open on Friday, October 19 from 12–7 p.m. for Registration and Packet Pick-Up and on Saturday, October 20 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Get more info on Packet Pick up here.
We will have a very brief Packet Pick-up for riders on Sunday, October 21 from 6:30–7 a.m. (You must pick up your bib by 7 a.m. in order to be tracked with the tracking application.)
You only need your name to pick up your bib and you may pick up a bib for someone else, but you will be responsible for making sure that person get’s their bib. We will not re-issue lost or misplaced bibs.
Any incentives you qualified for in your fundraising can be picked up during this time. You will only receive incentives you qualify for at the time you pick up your bib. Incentives will not be available after Packet Pick-Up closes on Sunday at 7 a.m. Please bring additional donations with you to be processed at the Donations table at the Village before picking up your bib
Rider Tracking App
This year we’re offering a rider tracking app available to download for iPhone, iPad and Android, and for operation as a mobile website. Riders must have their bib by 7 a.m. on Sunday in order to use the tracking feature. Riders should share this app with friends and family to not only check on their progress, but to also find quick and easy information about the event. Search for “Team LIVESTRONG Challenge” in your mobile application store, but keep in mind that the tracking feature will not be available until the weekend of the event.
Venue and Parking Info
Curious about where things are in the LIVESTRONG Village? Check out the venue map to get the lay of the land. There will be various parking garages available for a fee and limited street parking for the event. We encourage all to walk, ride or get dropped off at the venue due to limited parking. Riverside Drive will be closed Friday through Sunday from South 1st Street to Lamar Boulevard. Please plan accordingly for Packet Pick-Up and getting to the ride on Sunday morning.
Sunday’s ride will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. with brief announcements on stage. Riders will be sent out in waves of 150 every few minutes to get everyone out safely onto the course. Our Ride for the Roses participants will roll out first followed by the 100 milers, 65 milers and finally 18-mile riders. Check out the course info here.
Due to the wave start, all 65 and 18-mile riders should plan to be staged by 8 a.m. You can read more about start logistics on the Ride Course Information Page. Volunteers will help direct you into the proper corral and there will be PA announcements to let you know when to head to the staging area.
Please familiarize yourself with the course, staging map and how to ride safely on open roads in large groups. These roads ARE NOT CLOSED to motor traffic so please ride with caution.
