You ready to roll in Davis this weekend? We are! Before you descend on the beautiful town of Davis, CA we want to provide you with the info you’ll need to make your packet pickup and event day enjoyable.
Registration and Packet Pickup:
Online registration will close on Friday at 9pm CST, so if you would like to register and didn’t get a chance, you can do so Saturday from 10am-4pm. Packet pickup times on Saturday are 10am–4pm and Sunday 6:30am-7am. Remember this is a fundraiser with a $250 minimum to participate in the ride. We will be able to accept cash, check or credit card payments on site. Just follow the signs at the venue. Those that have checks or donations MUST bring them this weekend to be processed. Any checks mailed in this week will not be credited in time and they will be required to pay the difference to meet their minimum.
Fundraising Appreciation Dinner and Incentives:
All individuals that have raised $500+ are eligible for some really great fundraising incentives. There is a full listing of incentives here. The Saturday night fundraising appreciation dinner is open to those that have raised $3,500 or more. You will receive information in your packet about the dinner if you qualify.
Parking will be available on street and in garages around Central Park. It is extremely limited and we want to encourage people to walk/ride over to the venue. They don’t call this a bike friendly city for nothing!
This year we are introducing the official mobile application for the 2012 Team LIVESTRONG Challenge Series including events for Davis, CA, Philadelphia, PA, and Austin, TX. Features include: participant tracking, weekend event schedule, interactive course maps, Team LIVESTRONG blog feed, and much more. For the tracking to work, make sure you adhere the proper bib to your bike. There will be instructions at packet pickup. Please note: Riders need to pick up their bib BEFORE 7am on SUN if you want to be tracked with the Rider Tracking App. The app is available for iPhone and Android.
Riders must be staged by 7:15am on Sunday AM. There will be 1,500 participants and tons of event staff, volunteers and onlookers are expected, so get there early. The ride will start at 7:30am sharp after brief remarks from foundation representatives.
There are 10, 20, 65 and 100 mile course options this year. If you have chosen a more difficult ride than you can manage, please note there will be a few opportunities to bail. Make sure you talk to a volunteer at a water stop or a course marshal for information. THIS IS NOT A RACE. This is intended to be a fun ride, so push yourself but have fun too.
