In just two weeks Team LIVESTRONG will fill the streets of Davis, California, for the second annual Team LIVESTRONG Challenge Davis! Here’s the haps for what’s sure to be a great weekend of cycling and supporting the LIVESTRONG mission:
Packet Pick-Up and LIVESTRONG Village
The LIVESTRONG Village will be open on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. for you to pick up your ride bib, t-shirt, water bottle and any incentives you’ve earned. There will be a brief Packet Pick-Up window on Sunday before the ride for last minute participants from 6:30–7 a.m. However, we recommend coming on Saturday if possible. (We will also have Team Packet Pick-Up for registered teams of 8 or more participants. We only require that one team member be present to gather their team’s bibs, t-shirts and incentives, but please note that we will not release a bib for a team member who has not reached the $250 minimum.) Get all the Packet Pick Up info here
In an effort to “Go Green” riders will not be issued goodie bags this year. Instead we have created a Virtual Race Bag chock full of great deals from our sponsors. The race bag will remain active until Sunday, July 1 so take advantage of these great promotions while you can!
Parking will be extremely limited around Central Park all weekend. There is street parking available and some lots around the venue, but walking and/or biking to the venue is encouraged…and easier! There will be a bike valet and bag check for your convenience on Sunday for you to enjoy the LIVESTRONG Village without having to worry about locking up your bike and belongings.
Ride Course and Safety Info
Now that you have got the logistics down, please familiarize yourself with the course you will be riding. This is a fully supported ride and we will have SAG vehicles patrolling the course and stocked up Power Stops with healthy nutrition to keep you properly fueled all day. Please be safe on the road and obey all local and state laws. The majority of roads are not closed to motor traffic, so please ride safely and no more than two abreast.
Yes, there’s a $250 fundraising minimum – to support the mission of the Lance Armstrong Foundation – required for you to pick up your bib and participate in the ride on June 24. You may bring donations to Packet Pick-Up, and we can credit your account on-site. You may also pay any remaining balance on your account on-site via cash, check or credit card. If you have check donations in your possession right now, please DO NOT mail them in. Bring them to the donations table at the Village to receive credit.
We are looking forward to a great weekend and I can’t thank you enough for participating and raising funds for our mission. It is events like these that enable us to help so many individuals and families deal with the troubling news of a cancer diagnosis. Thank you so much, and we’ll see you in Davis soon!
