Davis Challenge Course Released

Last Friday, Team LIVESTRONG Challenge Davis riders and LIVESTRONG supporters came out to the Sudwerk Brewery in Davis, CA to hear about this year’s cycling route through northern California. It was a great time to be had and always nice to see our long-time fundraisers and our new participants come together to support the event. I feel like a lot of new friendships are formed through events like these and we are just glad to be able to bring people, of like-minded interests, together and once they meet the wheels start turning.
We spoke briefly about the status of this year’s event in Davis. We have already reached 59% of our participation goal this year and with a little more than 2.5 months to go until the Challenge, I know we will surpass that number. We receive such tremendous support from the local community and the City of Davis and the entire area really gets behind us and supports this event.
As guests mingled with one another, enjoyed some delicious food and sipped on a few local craft beers, our Technical Ride Director, Jeff Corbett, talked about each of the 3 routes for this year’s Challenge while pointing out specifics on enlarged course maps. There will be a 20, 65 and 100 mile course option for participants to choose from and each will start and end in Davis’ Central Park.
We have set a high expectation in Davis this year, to raise $1 million to support LIVESTRONG programs and services. In last year’s inaugural event, over $950K was raised in Davis.
