Vote to Bring LIVESTRONG Programs to Your Town

It’s time again for the LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project! You can bring LIVESTRONG programs proven to support families fighting cancer to communities across the country just by casting your vote. Your vote will determine where LIVESTRONG Community Impact resources go—get started by visitng vote.livestrong.org and select your region. Voting begins March 7th at 10am CST and will close at 5pm CST on March 23rd.

Hundreds of qualified hospitals, cancer centers and community organizations have applied to be part of four different programs — The Creative Center: Hospital Artist in Residence Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Pillars4Life and the Certification for Advanced Palliative Care—and your voice will be the deciding factor.

Certification for Advanced Palliative Care:
Under the direction of the Center to Advance Palliative Care, this certification provides health care professionals with the tools, training and technical assistance necessary to start and sustain successful palliative care teams in hospitals and other health care settings.

The Creative Center: Hospital Artist in Residence Program:
Bringing the arts to people with cancer, chronic illness and through all stages of life as a way to help them discover their own creative resources while meeting the challenges of diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Pillars4Life:
A virtual patient/caregiver support program that has been proven to enhance quality-of-life for cancer patients and that allows hospitals and their social workers to more efficiently triage and attend to the psychosocial needs of a much greater number of patients…all from the comfort of their own homes.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA:
A research-based program that offers people affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person. Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to achieve their goals.
