Trek and LIVESTRONG Ride Together

There’s a new addition to the cool items on display here at LIVESTRONG HQ: a brand new Trek LIVESTRONG 9th District commuter bike. Being the cycling type I was over in the front foyer immediately checking it out, and I like what I saw…
There are three bikes in the line, the aforementioned 9th District as well as an FX and a Women’s Specific FX. These bikes are ready made for commuting, cruising around the neighborhood or parks, and I think very appropriate for doing shorter distance portions of cycling events such as the upcoming LIVESTRONG Challenge here in Austin. They’re upright in design and very comfortable, and all at a price point well below $1000. Oh, and did I mention that $50 from each sale comes back to LIVESTRONG? Very nice!
We decided to have little fun with the bike here, enlisting two of our young guns, Matt and Dylan, as well as Ted over at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop. Check out the video below and see what you think:
For those of you who are more tech oriented, here’s some highlights of each bike:
FX – black aluminum frame, 8-speed Shimano trigger shifters with a triple front chainring, and Bontrager accessories from the wheels to the handlebars to the saddle
9th District – black aluminum frame, 9-speed SRAM X.7 trigger shifters with a single chainring up front, and higher end Bontrager accessories from the wheels to the handlebars to the saddle
These bikes will be a welcome addition, either as your primary ride for getting around town, or a great new friend to your existing stable of bikes.
