The Great Tour of Texas

This morning at 7am, LIVESTRONG staff will embark on an intensive three day trip across Texas to visit program partners, grantees, advocates, elected officials, corporate partners, fundraisers and major cancer centers. The purpose of the trip is to not only view the organizations and programs we have partnered with and funded, but it is also a time for staff to bond together as a team and celebrate our achievements made possible through your generous support.

I can’t imagine spending this coming week in any other way. Fighting cancer with people who are so committed to this cause. Visiting major cancer centers doing groundbreaking work. Talking with survivors who are benefiting from our programs. Hearing from legislators who made CPRIT possible and who will ultimately help us pass Smoke-Free Texas.

I?m honored to work with so many smart and talented individuals. Our staff members work long hours dedicated to the mission of this great organization; yet most of us are unable to ever view these programs in action. It is our hope that over the next few days we will go from hearing about the amazing programs to seeing firsthand how LIVESTRONG has made a real difference in people’s lives.

Lastly, this whole trip would not be possible without the generous donations from our amazing corporate partners and our founder and Chairman Lance Armstrong. No individual donor dollars will be used to fund this week’s trip.
