The following is a letter from LIVESTRONG‘s President and CEO, Doug Ulman, about a growing global health crisis. We hope that you will review and act on this information. There are lives hanging in the balance and it is up to us, the citizens of the world, to speak up.

Dear Friends,

It?s inspiring to see so many dedicated LIVESTRONG supporters joining Lance and calling on world leaders to face up to the global cancer crisis.

If we reach 100,000 signatures on our open letter, we?ll deliver it in September to the UN Secretary-General and key Heads of State at the UN Summit in New York. But we need you to add your name to make the biggest public statement possible, and get our leaders to commit to taking real action.

The last time heads of state met at the UN to tackle a global health crisis, people of all nations came together to make HIV/AIDS a priority. And it worked. World leaders launched a global effort that closed the gap between what we could do and what we were doing.
