Race for Tomorrow with Team LIVESTRONG and CMC

Contrary to what you may think, LIVESTRONG is actually a melting pot of employees who are all pretty different. This, combined with the opportunity to take on additional projects to fuel our own passion, means there?s oftentimes really interesting projects rumbling underground around LIVESTRONG HQ.
It helps build the culture. It also allows us to partner with emerging organizations and events that focus on populations that we?d also like to do a better job supporting. My hope was to find another group of Survivors that I could help. And then I met with the team from Civilian Military Combine (CMC), who is launching their inaugural event on September 10, 2011, the day before the 10th anniversary of September 11th.
And this is not just any event, but a completely new event model which tests strength, endurance and agility. Teams and individual competitors from the military, law enforcement, fire & rescue and civilian backgrounds will be put to the test against 4 judged lifting elements into a timed 7 mile mountain footrace featuring 7 strategically placed massive military obstacles throughout the course.
How many great causes can be wrapped into one event you ask? Alot. Just think, you can honor those affected by September 11th, spend the day racing next to our nation?s heroes, and raise money for the LIVESTRONG by joining our team.
