Today is World Cancer Day-a day to raise awareness for a disease that affects 28 million people worldwide and causes 8 million deaths every year, one-third of which could have been prevented. Today we are focusing on how we can reduce stigma, improve access to care and prevent the unnecessary suffering from cancer. Here are a few things you can do today to show your support:
- Take the World Cancer Day quiz and share it with your friends on Facebook, Email or Twitter.
- Share your cancer story with others in person or on our Facebook page.
- Watch and share these videos about the global cancer burden.
- Sign up to be a LIVESTRONG volunteer, to be a grassroots advocate or take part in a Team LIVESTRONG event.
Whatever you do today to observe World Cancer Day, remember the 28 million affected by cancer, those fighting and those we’ve lost.
