More Than Just a Mo

by

Movember is more than just a campaign. It is more than just moustaches. Movember is about changing the face of men’s health as we know it. Last year, 255,722 men and women across the globe raised $40 million to support men’s health initiatives. Over 3.2 million was raised in the US alone with proceeds going to support LIVESTRONG and The Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Funds raised through Movember in the United States have helped us make great strides in the fight against cancer by supporting our young adult survivorship programs for the needs of cancer survivors 15-40yrs old. The funds donated to The Prostate Cancer Foundation have recently led to the discovery of the 24 different types of prostate cancer at the University of Michigan.

We thank the Mo Bros and Mo Sistas of Movember for helping us in the fight against cancer. You have one day left to donate to this year’s campaign. Go to http://us.movemberfoundation.com today to show your support for a Mo Bro or Mo Sista and change the face of men’s health as we know it.

The wife of a good friend of mine lost her fight with cancer on Thanksgiving day. I’ve been a big Lance fan and a LiveStrong supporter for a while. I have the clothing, the bracelet, pins, bags, shoes, hat and etc. I really felt good about the support I’ve given. That is to say until last Thursday. Right now, I feel that I haven’t done enough. What else can I do?

    1. Mark- there are a lot of ways to give back. You can give your time through volunteering- handing out LIVESTRONG Guidebooks or SurvivorCare pamphlets- or donate through an event like a LIVESTRONG Challenge, Tri or Marathon. Email us livestrong@livestrong.org so we can send you more info.

      Thanks for caring

I hope in the future there are all sorts of awareness techniques that will get other cancers the kind of publicity as breast Cancer Awareness gets in October.

Great to know of all the effort and causes done.
    Keep it up!
