Navigating the health care system can be overwhelming when you are just diagnosed with cancer, but assistance from a trusted source can help you feel empowered and more in control of your health.
LIVESTRONG created a tool to guide a survivor from the point of diagnosis through treatment and beyond- The LIVESTRONG Guidebook. This two-volume set contains helpful information and journal spaces that help survivors address the physical, emotional and practical concerns they may have during the cancer journey.

We have received a number of compliments on the guidebook recently. These are from survivors, health care providers, family members and other cancer organizations.
?Wanted to send you a personal note and let you know how wonderful the materials are! What great tools to put in people’s hands when they are diagnosed. It is such an overwhelming experience but the guidebook and planner provide such a wealth of information that in and of itself give people hope and allows them to take charge of their treatment from day one. Thanks for all you do!?
?I am so impressed! Let me say that again I AM SO IMPRESSED!! There is so much valuable information and support in the books. When finalized we would really like to put them in all of our patient’s cancer bags. Also from the wife of a survivor, so much information that I didn’t have that we need/needed.?
? A patient had received the (Guidebook) book and he loves it! He brings it with him to all his appointments and shows it to the doctors and nurses. He reported that one doctor liked it so much he ordered multiple copies for their office. He also said that he was speaking with another woman in the waiting room and she was very depressed. He showed her his book and she read the success stories and was feeling much better by the time she went to see the doctor. Sounds like the LAF team really put together an excellent resource!?
Do you have a guidebook? Did you find it helpful?
