This year, 70% of all cancer deaths will occur in developing countries where they will only receive 5% of all resources to battle this disease. At LIVESTRONG, we find this unacceptable. We have brought together a number of the world’s best organizations to find solutions to the gap in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Yesterday was the first meeting of what is called the Global Taskforce on Cancer Control in Developing Countries. Lance and Her Royal Highness Princess Dinah Mired of Jordan are co-presidents of the Taskforce. Below is a video from our Sr. Director of Mission, Claire Neal, discussing why the Taskforce is needed and who is involved. Bottom-line: bringing cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment to the people that need it in developing nations.
