NYC Half Marathon

On Sunday Team LIVESTRONG was in the Big Apple for the NYC Half-Marathon. 40 runners donned their yellow gear and ran through the streets of Manhattan to raise awareness for LIVESTRONG and our mission to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. In addition to completing the challenging and picturesque course, these runners have raised over $88,000!
The race started in Central Park, the sun rising as 11,000 runners found their corrals. After a loop around Central Park, runners exited the park at the south end, running down 7th Avenue all the way through Times Square. A right on 42nd put you on the West Side Highway, down which the runners made their way to Battery Park for a scenic finish with a view of the Statue of Liberty. The weather was just stunning all day, and all our runners ? many of whom were completing their very first half marathon ? had a great day.
