LIVESTRONG provides couples with the opportunity to have guests donate to the fight against cancer in lieu of sending the traditional wedding gifts. Couples can also choose an amount to donate to LIVESTRONG in their guests? behalf in which cards are given to attendees instead of wedding favors.
The card speaks of the LIVESTRONG mission, which is to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. This action influences guests who may have not donated or been involved with LIVESTRONG to become involved and make a personal donation to serve those affected by cancer. Couples take one of the most important days of their life and turn the attention they receive to honor loved ones, friends and others that have had their lives affected by cancer.
All you have to do is visit www.livestrong.org/donate to donate and choose the number of cards they would like to use and then enter the appropriate donation amount. The wedding becomes a celebration of the new couples? commitment to each other as well as their commitment and their guests? commitment to help those affected by cancer.
Recently, Melissa Cevedia themed her wedding LIVESTRONG in honor of her brother?s passing from Germ Cell Testicular Cancer and her father?s current battle against prostate cancer. Her wedding colors were yellow and black and their wedding favors were LIVESTRONG bracelets.
Mackenna Fry and Eric Stewart also recently tied the knot in August and asked their guests to donate to the Lance Armstrong Foundation in lieu of receiving wedding gifts. Eric?s father, Steven J. Stewart recently passed away from cancer and Mackenna?s mother, Patricia B. Fry, is a cancer survivor so the couple decided to honor them by asking their guests to donate in their behalf.
You too can make the LIVESTRONG a part of your experience by getting started at www.livestrong.org/donate.
