H1N1 and Cancer Survivors

by

According to the Centers for Disease Control, living with cancer increases your risk for complications from the flu. If you have cancer now or have had cancer in the past, you are at higher risk for complications from both seasonal and 2009 H1N1 flu. The Centers for Disease Control just released information about what cancer survivors/patients should know about the flu.

To help prepare you for the flu this season, CDC answers some of your most important questions about special considerations for cancer patients and survivors for seasonal flu and 2009 H1N1 flu. Go to the CDC website for more information and, as always, please discuss any concerns you have regarding the flu and your risks with your healthcare provider.

This is so true and that is the reason I was given the vaccine. Everyone I know just about asks me why I got it and how afraid they are to get it even if your not a cancer survivor,it helps not spread it to us who can/will die for the H1N1 virus if we get it that helps us. Thank you for a great and informative read Brooke, as always :)

It is a myth that being vaccinated will prevent you from transmitting the disease to others. Just because one is vaccinated does not mean they are not a carrier of the disease, they still can carry the virus and spread the virus.
