Connect with LIVESTRONG During the Tour de France

If you are like me, you probably REALLY want to be at the Tour de France to watch Lance’s return to cycling. Although you and I may not be able to go personally, we can still live vicariously through others. There are MANY ways you can do this. Check out the following opportunities for you to “attend” the Tour de France throughout the month of July without leaving the comfort of your couch and laptop.

    Celebrate the start of the Tour de France in the Mellow Johnny?s parking lot with family activities, contests, raffles, and a viewing of Stage 1 on the big screen provided by Alamo Drafthouse.

    Tuesday, July 7 Third Base
    7:30 AM ? 10:00 AM
    This Grassroots Fundraising event will be held at Third Base on W. 6th Street. Breakfast and mimosas will be served, and all proceeds will be donated to the LAF.

    Lance, I am so excited to watch you ride again! Whether you support a teammate or go for it yourself, I’m so happy to watch you ride again. In 2004, my beloved sister-in-law, Kathy, died of ovarian cancer while I was in France watching you win #6. I had decided not to go to France when she said she was going off chimo, but she said in no uncertain terms: “Don’t you dare not go for a dream of yours on the off chance that I might die during those 2 weeks.” Unfortunately that is what happened, but I have been wearing a LIVESTRONG bracelet, and giving them to anyone I meet who wants one, in her name and honor. Today I put on a new one (because the one I’ve been wearing for 5 years straight was getting too loose). I dedicated it in her name and I am supporting your ride in her name. Thank you! and I’ll be watching every day. Whatever you do will be terrific in my eyes and those of the world! You are still and always my inspiration!

    once again,people are putting LA down and writing off his chances,i bet he`s loving that.Go and do what you do best Lance-ram their comments down their throats mate because you have the support of millions of fans behind you but most importantly it`s your mental attitude.It looks like your working for the team in this TDF but i believe there are a few supprises in store from LA,whatever happens-we`r all behind you if not in body certainly in spirit.

    Ciao Lance .I meet you in Indy when you drove the pace car and I was in the race with Team Chhever .Your never give up attitude and will to shut up all the noises around is an inspiration for me too in my sport.I’m now in NASCAR SPRINT CUP racing the #13 GEICO Car.In 2006 after I met u in Indy I lost my dad Cesare from pancreatic cancer since then I never stop pushing whoever I met to understand better how we can fight this terrible desease and I’ve been tring to got people closer to LIVESTRONG and your philosophy of life.I’m actually in Daytona now writing this just after last practice session and I didn’t want the TDF to start without me posting a note.I will race Saturday with livestrong bracelet travellig at over 200 MPH and next week as an avid biker I will ride few 100′s thinking of you pushing on those pedals in the name of your determination and will to succed.You r an eccelent anbassador of will and in many way your attitude had helped me as well to fight and get and be a better Driver.I would really like to get more involved with livetrong and see way to use my persona and NASCAR Racing to bring more attention to the cancer cause.Keep pushing hard I will do the same in the Daytona Cup Race on Saturday night.Say hello to Gianluca Carretta .Ciao Campione .Max Papis

    I am a lifelong cyclist and was devastated to be diagnosed with testicular cancer in September 1997. Twelve years later I am cycling as strong as ever, and ever since they were put on the market I have worn a Livestrong bracelet. My brother has a place in Verbier, so naturally we will be there for a few days to ride, to cheer, and take photos as you all come up the Cat 1 climb into Verbier on stage 15 – all the best luck – we will be there rooting for you !

    Let’s all rally and remember the main reason why Lance is out there: to support cancer survivorship and make treatment of this horrific disease a global priority.

    Please continue to participate, volunteer and support your family members, friends and loved ones during the Livestrong Challenge events to support the LAF tackle this awesome task. The Seattle Challenge a few weeks ago was incredible, and there are three more Challenges to go – in San Jose, Philly and Austin!

    Lance–are you sure you didn’t mean to say “Why i THRIVE” ?!

    My mother, 2 aunts, 2 cousins, and too many dear friends and patients to count have all been called to Cancer’s challenge. Too few have won their battles. It is not enough to thank you for taking up this mantle. Will endless blessings do?

    The summit is sure to be a success–it’s in Ireland after all! Be careful accepting invitations into Irish homes–they will feed you their last morsel and if you’re lucky, they’ll bring out the poteen!!

    I knew that you would not lose your place in the ventoux, your eyes and your aggression not this force which you clear, me consists of it. You are audacious that it is on a bike or elsewhere (however I did not love you when you doubled the records of wins
    on the TOUR of legends ANQUETIL MERCKX HINAULT and INDURAIN) but records are made to be beaten, and on top of that by a Texan “courageux”. (JOHN WAYNE would be happy with you HAHAHA)

    you arrived at the panache, and this year people love you because you showed that you been human and less terminator. You remain the boss and even if contador is very gifted, it still has no sense of running and re-being confined to bed d ‘ a team. You would have been able to finish ASTANA in three on the podium, but it you have already known it. The best the single leader in a team is credit. In brief long life in your new team. Lance, I’ shall have liked to throw me in cycling, at least tactically because I’ am 39 years old today, I cannot make career any more (and then my job of state trooper takes me of time, I make only 2 000 kms a year in most. In fact I took you in photograph l ‘ other day in ANNECY in 01 km of l ‘ arrival. I had you in spite of the speed.
    if you come back on ANNECY, takes your bike, I shall run on the collar of BLUFFY with you. And I’ have an idea as you but you must contact me to speak about it.
