Summit Photos – Final Day

The final day of the Summit was an incredibly moving experience. I would have to say the one part that touched me more than anything this weekend was when Jen Hoeger, who was a track leader for Advocacy Grey, took the stage. The entire crowd started chanting “I KNOW JACK! I KNOW JACK!”. It was simply amazing. i would be willing to bet there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire audience. Overall the experience was incredible. There are not enough adjectives to even begin to explain the emotion and amazing time we all had. It was cool watching all the Status Updates on Facebook throughout the weekend as well. I am sure I will post some more stories about what all happened at the Summit, but I wanted to get this last batch of photos out. Hopefully everyone made it home safely.

    One word: WOW! I’m a prostate cancer survivor who was diagnosed 5 short months ago and had a prostatectomy on March 17th. I read Lance’s book, “It’s Not About the Bike” while recovering from surgery, then I visited the LAF website and found out the 2008 Summit was being held in my home state of Ohio. I applied and was accepted as a delegate, so I had the incredible opportunity of experiencing some of the defining moments of my life as a survivor. I left the Summit on fire to unite with all other who want to make cancer a national priority. Let’s do it!

    This was my first Summit, and I am so inspired and excited to get to work. Everything about the Summit was so well planned. I will always remember the closing with 1000 delegates shouting LIVESTRONG LIVESTRONG LIVESTRONG.

    What an amazing first Summit experience. Very humbling…and inspiring. I will never forget all those I had the opportunity and good fortune of meeting, especially those in my group (GO BLUE SHARKS!!!)and track (FUNDRAISING 2).

    This too was my first Summit and I am so glad to find that others are as inspired as me. It unleashed a watershed of emotion of me with my personal history with Cancer. I am glad we now can talk about our desire to MAKE CANCER A NATIONAL PRIORITY. We must all LIVESTRONG and keep in touch with our efforts to make the LIVESTRONG ARMY a FORCE. I am proud to have been a delagate and now a LEADER in our fight against CANCER.

    I am grateful for being part of this year’s Summit, my first experience.

    Looking at the photos from that final day reminded me of the speaker?¢?Ǩ?Ñ¢s generous gift of time and their candid and warm expression of support for the goal to make cancer a national priority.

    The world is better place because of the Summit.

    The summit was such an amazing experience-words just can’t explain it! I am changed, inspired, and moved by what happened to me at this summit…and those I met have forever changed my life. I can’t wait until the next summit! (Go Blue Scouts!)
