The Epitome of LIVESTRONG

I came across this video the other day and it stopped me short. It was one of those moments that where you think to yourself, “This is what it’s all about.” This is why I get up in the morning. So that kids like Adam Bender, who lost a leg due to cancer at age one, can live his life on his own terms: uninhibited, unapologetic, and without a doubt, inspiring!

We all face times in our lives where we have the choice to sit in the bleachers or get in the game. Those times might be marked with a cancer diagnosis, the passing of a loved one, or facing some other obstacle that might seem too great to ever be overcome. And although the bleachers may provide me with a place to recover and regroup, I will think of Adam hopping to first base and remember that life is lived in the game and get my butt back out there as soon as possible.

Very inspiring. I love the way the adults and kids re-enforce normalcy for young Adam.

Adam is amazing. No fuss, just action with quiet determination. An extraordinary boy doing extraordinary things.

This could not have come at a better time. I have been soul searching to assist another survivor who is fearful of a relapse. I showed her this video and her fears went away. Thank you to you and to Adam. “A small child shall lead them”.
If only all of us, afflicted or surviving could have the enthusiasm that little Adam has what a wonderful world it would be.
