Hey Guys! I am writing today to share the story of Jack Hoeger with you. Jack is an amazing eight year old cancer survivor that I’ve had the privilege of getting to know through the LAF. Jack lives in Iowa, and his parents, Jen and Marty, are very special people that have dedicated their lives to raising awareness about cancer.
Jen attended LIVESTRONG Day 2007 in Washington, D.C., and met with her Iowa representatives to ask them to increase funding for cancer research. Marty rode as a member of TEAM LIVESTRONG in The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) with Lance to raise awareness about cancer. They have started the LIVESTRONG Army Cedar Rapids to get others in their own community involved in making cancer a national priority.
Local LIVESTRONG Armies are a way to get your friends, family, and community involved in raising awareness and fighting cancer. We challenged our Army leaders to make a cancer commercial that asks our nation’s leaders what they plan to do in the fight against cancer. In the video, Jack asks, “What will you do to fight cancer?” Interested in getting involved? Click here.
Please take a second to watch this heartfelt video and call to action about Jack’s triumph over cancer. He has really beat the odds, and serves as an inspiration to us all! “If you don’t’ fight cancer, you don’t know Jack,” says Jack.
